A new report from the Government Accountability Office has found that the IRS still needs to work on its authentication process, as between 2011 and 2014 the service has paid out about $5.8 billion worth of fraudulent refunds, according to Forbes. And the number might be bigger--the total only includes refunds the IRS paid out only to realize later they were fraudulent, according to Forbes.
